EL Director conferred HKU Honorary University Fellowship
EL Director Mr. Chong Chan Yau was among the nine outstanding individuals who were conferred Honorary University Fellowships by the University of Hong Kong on Oct 4, 2012, in recognition of his contributions to the University and the community.
At the ceremony, Mr Chong Chan Yau was highly praised as a real pioneer and a staunch advocate for his contributions to community service and championing the underprivileged in the citation delivered by Dr Albert Chau, HKU Dean of Student Affairs.
Created in 1995, the Honorary University Fellowships are a means for the University community to thank and salute the lives of those who have made important contributions in their own unique ways to the University, to academia, and to Hong Kong. HKU Vice-Chancellor Professor Lap-Chee Tsui praised the nine honorary fellows as “true examples who have shown, in thought, andword, and deed, how deeply they appreciate the value of education, and how important the welfare of society is to them.”
Cheers and congratulations to Mr. Chong!
